Ep6: The ground beneath their feet
Translation of taped conversation that took place in [DELETED] on
[DELETED]. While the transcript has been altered to remove
incriminating names, we believe the conversations took place as
stated.
[SUBJECT 95]: Your latest initiative puzzles me, sir. I'm not
sure what we would achieve by putting it forward.
[SUBJECT 23]: You mean go after the land, rather than the people?
That's another of my radical new ideas. We had to put it into
operation in a rush, to counter THEIR operation to integrate as
they are. We needed to distract [DELETED]'s attention away from
it. But once we have the land, we can take care of the people in
our own time.
95: But they won't be OURS, how can we touch them when they're
still under other protection, with other passports?
23: That won't matter, eventually. Those born on our soil will
have to be ours- we won't give them the choice.
95: So they'll eventually all be ours? Then the plan will be
achieved? But what about the interim- will we have to shut down
once this happens?
23: No, there'll still be work for us to do, as we'll have to
tighten up the screws on those that want to stay as they are. The
"fence" will have to stay, and we'll have to concoct
some new regulations to persuade them to come over to our side.
95: But our people in the area say that those property owners are
the very kind of people that keep their economies afloat during
the low season!
23: That doesn't matter, they'll eventually come round to our way
of doing things, and things will pick back up again. But come
around they must.
95: What about the voting thing?
23: That's exactly what I'm trying to get around! We know they
won't vote our way, so we have to use alternate means.
95: So do you think THEY'll go for it?
23: I've already told them if THEY don't, we'll step up
operations again. You know the plan for that.
95: Oh, yes! By the way, we've had some unexpected progress in
that area- approval to force our finance companies out of
[AREA01]. Isn't that good news?
23: S*#$! Where's a phone...
