Ep 7: The Race
Report of incident that took place in <AREA01> some years
ago. While the report has been altered to remove incriminating
names, we believe the incident took place as stated.
Location: <AREA01>'s territorial waters (disputed)

As ordered our vessel <SHIP93> took up position as above.
As usual it took pains to make itself as provocative as possible,
both in actual position, and the usual additive to its fuel.
At approx 1100, a small civilian motor vessel approached. One
person was allowed to board, and enquired whether we would be
holding our position for the rest of the day. We replied in the
affirmative, and repeated our claim to the waters concerned. The
person then returned to his boat, which returned to
<AREA01>.
At approx. 1430, a small explosion was heard within
<AREA01>'s port area. A binocular search revealed that the
boat referred to above had set off a small firearm, apparently as
a signal to a number of sailing vessels nearby. The position of
the sailing vessels indicated that they had just started some
kind of race. These then headed directly towards us. Fearing an
attack, we sounded general quarters, but kept our men out of
sight.
We were relieved when the sailing vessels passed us by, and
congratulated ourselves on being an obstruction to this event.
However, after turning around two other bouys in the area, the
vessels turned towards us, and again passed around us, heading
towards the first of the two bouys mentioned above. The civilian
motor vessel had taken up position near the second bouy, and
fired off its firearm when the first of the sailing vessels
passed between it and the bouy.
There were no further incidents that afternoon. It is not known
what to make of the above incident, however, after the above was
reported, we were ordered to withdraw to another position.

youself to be used as a marker bouy in a boat race! You're
supposed to harrass these people, not help them enjoy themselves!
I'll have you painting aircraft carriers alone for this...

Attempting to verify this information through normal channels is
not advisable.
Any resemblance between the characters and any person, living or
dead, is probably purely coincidental.
